Why Birch?

Each of our beautiful handmade knitting needles, crochet hooks and needlework tools is individually handcrafted of renewable native birch or maple at our rural North Carolina home. Because of its tight grain and extraordinary flexibility, birch has long been the preferred wood for knitting needles and crochet hooks. We use a natural oil finish that develops a lovely patina with use and age.
